Meet Alex - Super Mum

Alex and her baby, Camille, have been a part of the Mums All Together community for a while now and we wanted to share a little insight into how they have found the program.

Hi Alex, can you tell us a bit more about you, your pregnancy, and your baby?

Before getting pregnant, I was working hospo and I used to be on my feet all the time, working crazy hours. Once I announced my pregnancy to my Operation Director, they created a new role for me in the head office, which was an amazing opportunity but I went from walking around 12 hours a day to sitting all day long, which made a big change in my lifestyle. I took a lot of weight during my pregnancy and I was really looking forward to being able to get in shape again after birth.

Getting back into exercise postpartum can be challenging, what helped you take the first step?

Getting out of the house! It was one of my first priorities, making sure we were having our daily walk, even if sometimes it was no more than 30 minutes.

How has your experience with MUMS ALL TOGETHER been?

For me, I was looking for an exercise video/program I could do from the comfort of my home, and what Mum all together proposed was exactly what I needed and what I was looking for to get me started.

If there is any advice that you could pass over to new Mums in their pre and especially postpartum recovery, what would that be?

Nourish your body! Making sure you have the right diet will allow you to get back to training quickly, and will give you all you need to replenish your body.

How are you adjusting to mum's life now that baby is here?

it is definitely a huge change for me & the lifestyle I once had, and again, it takes time to adjust - but when you start to let go and accept that sometimes you won't get much done during your day apart from being a mum to your baby, it is when you will start enjoying it. that's what happens to me!

Lastly, what advice would you give to someone who might be feeling hesitant about jumping into a MUMS ALL TOGETHER class, whether that be at home or in person?

You will really do yourself a favor by joining the movement, and being part of a community such as Mums All Together is fantastic because you are not alone & this is a very special time in your life when you need to get all the support and motivation you can get.
